Cal. 27-70 Q nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 28 jewels, Gyromax balance, free sprung regulator, the silvered matte dial with applied Arabic numerals, two windows for day and month, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds combined with 24 hour display, 30 minutes register combined with leap year indicator and date combined with phases of the moon, the circular water-resistant-type case with stepped bezel and downturned fluted lugs, glazed screw back, split seconds chronograph mechanism operated through two round chronograph buttons in the band and through the crown, platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1999 and its subsequent sale on 5 October 1999. Furthermore delivered with plain platinum screw back no. 4'080'780, platinum, wooden and emerald-set setting pin, original fitted wooden presentation box and outer packaging.

According to research, only five examples of reference 5004 in platinum have appeared in public to date. It is the first time that the present watch is offered at auction.

Manufacture of reference 5004 was launched in 1995. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 312.
