Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1950 and its subsequent sale on 20 December 1951.

This watch exemplifies the style of the 1950s chronographs and in particular the pink dial combined with the pink gold case lends it a very sophisticated look, often reserved for the South American market. It appears that the present watch has never been offered publicly before.

Reference 533 was introduced into the market in 1937 and is distinguished by the elegant look of its Calatrava case with the typical flat bezel. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 264.
