Decorated at Augsburg in the Seuter workshop with three pastoral vignettes, the central scene with a shepherd wearing a tricorn hat and a frock-coat, holding a long staff and surrounded by his flock in a wooded landscape, on a scroll support with pendant swags and a central diaper panel, flanked by two smaller scenes of sheep in landscapes on sledge-shaped supports, one joined to the handle with pendant swags, the other issuing branches, the scalloped borders at the rim and footrim edged with beaded C-scrolls and husks, the loop handle with meandering foliage between gilt bands, the upper rim richly gilt, the spirally-domed silver-gilt cover chased with flowers and foliage, with a shell thumbpiece and attached to a hinged mount at the handle, the foot mounted with a silver-gilt ring (slight wear to gilt borders, minute wear to scenes)
