CIRCA 1730-35, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S 5. TO BOTH
Of squat bombé form on three paw feet, the bold scroll handle with a broad gilt band terminating in a scroll thumbpiece, the sides painted with three scenes of merchants at discussion by cargo on the banks of estuaries, with figures unloading ships beyond, within ogival quatrefoil gilt cartouches enclosing triangular Böttger-lustre panels and edged with gilt and iron-red scrolls, below an everted gilt band rim, the shallow-domed cover similarly decorated with three vignettes about a gilt knop finial (slight wear to gilt rim, minute areas of wear)
