Modelled by J.W. Lanz, with a elderly cook stooping over a table making sausages, a bowl of stuffing meat on the table before her, wearing a pince nez, a white bonnet, a black-patterned purple blouse with the sleeves rolled up, a white apron, flowered white skirt and yellow shoes, on a shaped rectangular brown rockwork base (pince nez replaced, table broken through legs and restored, left little finger and lower part of sausage restored, restored chips to edge of base, hem of skirt and hem of jacket at back)

See Friedrich H. Hofmann, Frankenthaler Porzellan (Münich 1911), pl. 33, no. 153 for a similar figure from the Fritz Buckardt Collection, Berlin, illustrated with its companion male figure (no. 152). An example of the companion male cook was sold in these Rooms on 13th April 1967, lot 105. A pair of figures was sold by Christie's Geneva on 11th November 1985, lot 57 and another in these Rooms on 9th July 2001, lot 252.
