QING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The vessel formed as a cupped lotus leaf with undulating edges, the natural patina of the horn emulating the veining of the leaf, the exterior well carved in high relief with gnarled branches of flowering and budding prunus rising out of swirling waves forming a spiral flattened foot, the material varying from a dark brown to a rich honey-brown tone
