CIRCA 1720, ALTERED IN THE 19TH CENTURY TO FORM A CENTRE TABLE
The moulded rectangular pink and grey marble top above a waved frieze with central pounced cartouche of a bearded Bacchic mask, flanked by acanthus C-scrolls and floral trails on a hatched ground, the sides similarly carved and with central lambrequin spray, on goat's-mask headed cabriole legs carved with trailing husks and acanthus and joined by an undulated X-form stretcher with central lambrequin-draped gadrooned plinth, on pieds de bîche, one side frieze later carved to correspond, re-gessoed and regilt
