CIRCA 1775, IN THE MANNER OF JEAN-CHARLES DELAFOSSE, POSSIBLY SOUTHERN NETHERLANDS
With two oval caned backs and seats divided by stop fluted scrolled arms surmounted in the centre with a neoclassical urn finial with Greek key frieze and Greek key domed base, the moulded frieze standing on turned tapering fluted legs, headed by panelled block paterae and on turned feet, the green painted decoration refreshed apparently onto an elm ground, numbered in red chalk to the underside '439', caning distressed
