Each with a demi-lune top crossbanded in rosewood and decorated with urns hung with trailing flowers and foliage, with swagged half medallion at the rear edge painted en grisaille centred by a basket of fruit, above a leaf-carved serpentine frieze, on fluted tapering legs, regilt and possibly some reworking on the decoration, the painted decoration refreshed and probably partially later

Lot Essay

A card-table with a similar moulding-centred undulating frieze to its giltwood base was sold Sotheby's, London, 23 February 1990, lot 76. The top was elaborately inlaid with a shell and scrolls on a satinwood ground.
