Signed Kashu ju Sadayuki and dated Bunsei 11 (1828)
The blade honzukuri, toriizori, iorimune, chu-kissaki, forging pattern ko-itamehada, hako-midare hamon of nie the lower part gunome, komaru boshi, the nakago machi-okuri about 2cm., blade length 64.5cm., in its black lacquer saya later decorated with a dragon and clouds in gold hiramaki-e, matching shakudo nanako mounts comprising fuchi-kashira and kojiri, all inlaid in low relief with dragons, the similarly inlaid kurikata, a band around the saya, the ring lacking, shakudo tsuba carved and pierced with a gilt dragon above waves, the spray gilt, gilt dragon and bell menuki, 19th century
