Original pictorial cloth, spine and upper cover blocked in 3 colours, ORIGINAL DUST-JACKET (dust-jacket spine ends chipped, a few short tears and small chips). Provenance: Alice Pleasance Hargreaves (née Liddell, 1852-1934; signature).

ALICE'S COPY, SIGNED. First edition, first issue with the Kirk illustrations. The story of Alice was first told during a river expedition at Oxford in 1862. At the time Dodgson had not thought of publishing, but Alice Liddell insisted, and he promised, to write out the story for her. Lovett 204; Williams, Madan, Green, and Crutch [392].
