A RARE LARGE CLOISONNE ENAMEL TRIPOD BASIN
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

The centre of the charger enamelled with a white elephant richly caparisoned with beaded tassels, draped with a colourful saddlecloth and supporting an archaistic vase containing Buddhist jewels, all amidst multi-coloured cloud-scrolls scattered with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, the cavetto decorated with chilong scrolls, the exterior and base enamelled with stylised lotus scrolls encircling the central double-vajra medallion, set with a pair of gilt-bronze chilong handles and raised on three splayed feet cast with cloud scrolls
