Fabian Robin, London. Movement basically circa 1675, case and dial of later date
The movement with five ring-turned pillars, twin gut fusees, lipped spring barrels, knife-edge verge escapement, pull quarter repeat on two bells with the hours struck on a separate bell via a restored calibrated countwheel on the backplate, the backplate engraved with tulips and foliage and signed F: Robin Londini Fecit within a lambrequin, the associated gilt dial with skeletonised silvered chapter ring with every minute engraved to the outer ring, blued steel hands and winged cherub spandrels, the later case with architectural pediment, glazed sides and moulded base
