The case with cross-banded plinth resting on bracket feet, the trunk with stop chamfered angles flanking a glazed door, the hood with similar angles beneath a triangular pediment, the 13in. diameter circular silvered dial signed Gregory Exeter, regulator layout and blued steel hands, the movement with long brass shouldered plates, four pillars, deadbeat escapement - the escape wheel screwed to the collet and cut with six crossings, maintaining power, the crutch with fine beat adjustment above the suspension block for the pendulum with massive brass-cased bob with calibrated rating but and later wood-rod
