The case with brass baluster handle to the inverted bell top with fine foliate pierced and engraved gallery sound frets and ball-and-spire finials to each angle, similar pierced and engraved sound fret panels to the sides of the case and to the front and rear doors, the brass-bound moulded base on brass pad feet, the dial signed John Wady London on a silver plaque in the matted centre with calendar aperture and false pendulum aperture, silvered chapter ring with half hour and half quarter hour divisions, later blued steel hands, Indian mask-and-foliate spandrels, the foliate engraved arch centred by an engraved and painted penny moon aperture with crescent aperture above showing its age, flanked by silvered subsidiary rings with rosette engraved centres and blued steel hands for strike/silent and pendulum regulation, the movement with six ring-turned pillars - five pinned, the centre pillar latched, pivoted verge escapement, twin fusees with gut lines, original pull quarter repeat on six bells via six hammers, cam-adjusted foliate engraved rise-and-fall bar curving above the backplate and suspending a later pendulum, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage inhabited with addorsed eagle heads and centred by a cartouche signed John Wady London, rosette-engraved repeat pulley to the top left corner, original engraved brass movement securing brackets
