Lot Essay

This sampler presents several motifs affiliated with the Pennsylvania region. The weeping willow flanking one side of the central brick building and delicate basket with sprays of flowers at the left, along with the saw tooth border surround, are all characteristic of many of the Philadelphia compositions.
