Baluster shaped and on a spreading foot, with a scroll handle, the foot engraved with an inscription, marked near rim and on handle, with a card inscribed in an unknown hand 'George III Tankard from Parishioners of Barnwell, Northamptonshire'

The inscription reads 'Presented to H.R.H. Prince William Henry Andrew Frederick by the Parishioners of Barnwell 18th December 1944'
Provenance
Given to Prince William of Gloucester (1941-1972) by the parishioners of Barnwell, Northamptonshire, on the occasion of his third birthday.
