Polished marbled calf for Schwerdt preserving contemporary marbled wrappers, triple gilt rule, gilt spine with his arms at foot, top edge gilt. Provenance: C.F.G.R. Schwerdt (binding and bookplate; his sale, 22 May 1939, lot part lot 489). Second edition. NOT IN BL. The one located copy of this edition in ESTC, in the National Library of Ireland, apparently lacks the frontispiece. Schwerdt also owned a copy of the 1772 first edition published as A Treatise on English Shooting (see lot 564). Chute 193: 'very scarce'; Schwerdt I, p. 158.
