4° (250 x 190mm). 7 full-page plates including 2 folding by Lerpiniere and Mazell after Grimm, 2 fly-titles with engraved vignettes, 3-page 'advertisement' (preface), errata leaf. (One quire at the end partially detached, frontispiece repaired at fold, offsetting, light soiling at edges, spotting on a few leaves.) Contemporary speckled calf, flat spine, red leather lettering label, red speckled edges (rubbed, small split at top of joint).
FIRST EDITION. This copy has the fly-title to the Natural History following the advertisement, as in Martin; p.292 is misnumbered as 262 and pp. 441, 442 are omitted from the pagination. Martin p.90; Rothschild 2550. With the same author's A Naturalist's Calendar (1795). (2)
