A 19th century builder's half model of the steam yacht Gladys
John Reid & Co., Glasgow, Scotland; circa 1883
built by John Reid & Co., Port Glasgow Scotland in 1883, the hull built up in five lifts with natural bottom, painted black topsides, applied strake and cap rail, carved trail broards and figurehead, deck house with drawn windows and doors, applied bowsprit, masts, funnel, and companionway. Displayed on a split veneer back board with above the waterline in pine and below the waterline in maple and a builder's plaque on the lower right
