Lot Essay

This rug is very similar in terms of colouring and structure to a very worn rug sold in these Rooms 14 October 2004, lot 26. The predominant yellow and red silk seen here was also a feature of a remarkable part silk and cotton carpet offered in these Rooms 13 October 2005, lot 100. Please see the note to that lot for a more detailed discussion about Deccani rugs.
