One cast with the figure of a seated boar, the other with a stag, each sat upon a rockwork base above a relief-cast base with toupie feet, the underside stamped B & C and 44

Lot Essay
These chenets are based on the celebrated pair supplied by the bronzier Quentin-Claude Pitoin to Madame du Barry for her Salon at Fountainebleau, later placed by Louis XVI in his library at Versailles.
