According to the registers of the Geneva Observatory, the present watch participated at the 1884 timing contest where it achieved 159.9 points.
Free sprung lever watches by Patek Philippe are extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, only one other example of such a watch by Patek Philippe is known to date, number 47'374, sold at Christie's Geneva on 26 May 1993, lot 199.
