Illums Bolighus was founded in 1925 by Ms. Britta Drewsen and Mr. Kaj Dessau, who opened the shop 'Bo' at 10, Amagertrorv, Copenhagen. In 1941 the shop was taken over by the Illum, Berg and Trock-Jansen families who also owned the A.C. Illum A/S department store. In 1985 Illums Bolighus was in turn taken over by Royal Scandinavia A/S. Today, it continues to retail and promote modern interior design combining Danish and International furniture and home accessories.
