Lot Essay

The Leiderdorp sculptor Leendert Verstoep (1889-1967) was taught at the Rotterdam Academy. For the Amsterdam shop of the Bijenkorf Verstoep made architectural sculptures, also in 1935-1939 he made sculptures for the town hall of Leiden.
