The black lacquer ground decorated with two different gilt mon (family crests), the front lid opening to a drawer beside a pair of smaller drawers set underneath two sliding doors decorated with goldthread decorations of ho-o, the drawers and sides with iron handles, the iron lock engraved with flower patterns
