A GERMAN SMALL BIRDING STONEBOW (SCHNEPPER)

Of characteristic form, with steel shank with built-in gaffle struck with a mark, fruitwood butt inlaid with horn ball flowers, pellets and engraved plaques all set within horn segmental lines, moulded iron trigger-guard, and the trigger mechanism cocked by a button (the working parts of the gaffle and small pieces of inlay all missing).
