A GERMAN SPORTING CROSSBOW
Late 17th/early 18th Century
With blackened steel bow struck with a mark and retaining its original cords, string and six decorative woolen pom-poms, ebonised wooden tiller incorporating a series of earlier engraved horn plaques over the length of its upper surface, iron nut and set trigger mechanism, the trigger-lever retaining both its cord binding and a further pair of pom-poms, iron loop, and horn basal cap (bolt-clip missing)
