A RARE PAIR OF FRENCH LOUIS XVIII RESTORATION PERIOD REGULATION FLINTLOCK LIGHT CAVALRY HOLSTER PISTOLS
circa 1814
Constructed as a pair, with 7 7/8in octagonal sighted barrels decorated with simple punched engraved bands at the breeches and muzzles, each struck with a gilt fleur-de-lys mark on the breech, engraved barrel tangs with back-sight, sparsely engraved bevelled locks, walnut full stocks. chequered butts, full engraved iron mounts, and original iron ramrods, Liège proof.
