A PAIR OF FRENCH FLINTLOCK POCKET PISTOLS SIGNED BOUTET À VERSAILLES
No.66 circa 1815-20
In the First Empire fashion, with short turn-off barrels engraved with a band of olive foliage around the breech, the barrels and breeches numbered 1 & 2, engraved box-lock actions signed in small capital letters on the plain top plate, with thumbpiece safety-catches formed as engraved small studs and also locking the steel, folding triggers concealed within an engraved urn motif, and flattened figured walnut butts with fluted borders and cut with chequered panels over the sides.
