A FRENCH FLINTLOCK POCKET PISTOL BY BOUTET, DIRECTEUR ARTISTE MANUFRE À VERSAILLES
No. 221, circa 1805-10
With short turn-off barrel, chamfered muzzle, box-lock action signed in two parts over two sides, the leading letters ornamented with botanic motifs, sliding stud safety-catch also locking the steel, finely engraved folding trigger decorated with a bow, and ebony butt with fluted borders enclosing chequered side panels.
