Geneva, circa 1780/1800, later struck with a Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty mark for gold
Octagonal box, the cover, sides and base enamelled in translucent French blue on an engine-turned ground of wavy horizontal lines, the cover centred by an oval enamel plaque depicting Moses being discovered in a basket by three ladies and a child beside a stream in a wooded landscape, within a red enamel border, the frosted gold borders enamelled with translucent green leaves, white berries, red quatrefoils and rose-cut diamonds, the cut corners with vases on a frosted gold ground, with diamond swags and green enamel leaves and diamond flowers
