A FINE AND RARE PAIR OF GILT-BRONZE AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL TRIPOD CENSERS AND COVERS
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

Each censer with low cylindrical sides decorated with a bold lotus scroll, surmounted by a hexafoil flange enamelled on both top and bottom with further lotus scrolls, and raised on three elephant-head feet detailed with gilt-bronze ears, trunk and tusks, the detachable mid-section with a pierced gilt-bronze central band of confronted archaistic chilong, between cloisonné enamel floral meanders, the domed cover similarly designed with the addition of an openwork finial surmounted by a coiled chilong
