A FINE LARGE CARVED CELADON-GLAZED BOWL
YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

The deep rounded sides rising to a flared rim, finely carved in relief with six double-headed ruyi lappets interspersed with smaller bifurcated lappets and a border of lotus-petal lappets around the splayed foot, covered over all in a glaze of pale sea-green tone

Lot Essay

Bowls of this pattern are extremely rare. One was included in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Memorial Exhibition, The Charles Hoyt Collection, Boston, 1952, cat. no. 440; the other from the Hall Family Collection, no. 392, was illustrated in Sotheby's Hong Kong Twenty Years, 1993, no. 314.
