The exterior painted with four characters, Wanshou Wujiang, each within a medallion formed by a band of ruyi-heads, arranged at the four Compass Points against a ground of lotus sprays interspersed with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, under a band of stylised scrolls on the everted mouth rim and lotus lappets encircling the foot ring, the interior with a stylised shou medallion surrounded by the bajixiang motifs within a double-circle border
