QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

Each bowl finely enamelled on the exterior with six exotic blooms growing on scrolling stems amidst dense leaves, all above a ruyi band, the foot and mouth rims encircled by double-lines

Lot Essay

A Qianlong bowl of this size and pattern from the McElney Collection was included in the exhibition, Porcelain of the High Qing, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, 1983, Catalogue no. 79. Bowls of this pattern developed from similar bowls made during the Yongzheng period, such as the pair from the Paul and Helen Bernat Collection, sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 15 November 1988, lot 15.
