The serpentine top with ivory leather-lined writing surface above a central frieze drawer and kneehole flanked to each side by four graduated short drawers reversing to sham drawers, the angles with acanthus-headed reeded uprights, the sides with pull-out writing slides above oak leaf wreaths enclosing lion's heads, on a conforming plinth base, with painted accession number in red ink '70.9.233', one range of sham drawers to reverse, formerly fittee, redecorated with traces of original decoration
