Lot Essay

The recto relates to the group of dancers in the central part of Danse dans un Pavillon, at Potsdam, G. Wildenstein, Lancret, Paris, 1924, no. 205, fig. 34. The verso is for the couple on the right of the dancers in the same picture. The picture, along with a pendant of Le Moulinet, was sold to King Frederic II, King of Prussia, in 1753.
