Metal Framed Deck, circa 1875, New York, Victor E. Mauger, 52 of 52 cards plus one blank. Each card in this deck is inset in a metal frame apparently for use in mechanical gambling machines, such as manufactured by Mills Novelty Co. Players would insert a penny or nickle in the machine, pull the lever, and the spinning cards would come to a stop and create a random poker hand. Double-ended courts, no indices, sepia toned cards, square corners. Dawson, 17, U19. In generally fine condition.
