8o (188 x 120 mm). (Provenance notes removed from title, short tear to lower blanck margin, repaired.) Contemporary Saxonian blind- and GILT- STAMPED PIGSKIN over wooden boards, upper cover gilt lettered "DDB" and dated 1559, roll tool "Fides C.G. 1551, Superbia, Charitas, with Justicia, Spes with Lucrecia," upper cover with a gilt portrait plate stamp of Melanchthon, lower cover with a gilt portrait plate stamp of Luther, two brass clasps, gilt and gauffered edges (front free endpaper loss). Provenance: early note on front free endpaper; purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 23 May 1964.
