Engraved frontispiece.
Together four volumes, a double dos-à-dos binding of contemporary Dutch vellum, central gilt lozenge on the outer boards, smooth spines with blind floral tool, green floral-decorated endpapers, remains of green silk ties (short splits to vellum surrounding gilt tool on covers). Provenance: purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 15 December 1954.
A double dos-à-dos binding, combining four volumes, is much more uncommon than the standard dos-à-dos form. These two Dutch songbooks are often found bound together. See Scheepers, 314; Scheurleer, 192-3; Waller, 1668 (dl. 3).
