William Vaughan of Corsygedol was a Welsh landowner and antiquary, being the first president of the Cymmrodorion. He was a keen supporter of Welsh literature and language, as well as M.P. for Merionethshire from 1734 to 1768. He owned and probably commissioned Snowdon from Llyn Nantle by Richard Wilson which is now in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
By 1748 Benjamin Cole Snr had opened premises at 136 Fleet Street. His son, Benjamin Jnr joined his father in partnership in 1751 and continued the business until his retirement in 1782, when he sold it to J. and E. Troughton.
