The circular case with gold mounted laurel-tied reeded bezels and band, the back cover with easel stand, regulation slide and hand-set cover, the enamel dial with Arabic chapters and decorated with violets and pansies, pierced gold hands, the 8-day movement with high quality ratchet tooth lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance and gold timing screws, the backplate numbered No. 4276, hallmark for London 1901, casemaker AC for Andrew Clark

Lot Essay

Alfred Clark Ltd. were noted silversmiths working at 20 New Bond Street. The firm was listed by appointment to HRH the Prince of Wales and made various pieces for the Prince - in particular a clock for presentation to the Princess of Wales on the occasion of their Silver Wedding in 1888.
