Case by Pringuet & Cie, No. 952, retailed by Chaude, Paris. Circa 1880
The case with an entwined serpentine handle above the convex moulded top cast in high relief with flowers and foliage, the sides and base similarly cast with further sprays of flowers, the base signed Pringuet & Cie. 952, glazed white enamel convex dial with Arabic chapters and with gilt swags, signed Chaude AParis 36, Palais Royal, the spring barrel movement with silvered platform lever escapement vertically positioned on the backplate; together with the original gilt-tooled green leather travelling case with original green velvet lining and original winding key in the base
