A French ormolu-mounted variegated marble perpetual calendar mantel clock with equation of time
Retailed by F. Glading, Brighton, movement by J. B. Delettrez
The case adorned with a ribbon tied oak leaves and resting on elaborate ormolu scroll feet, the bevel-glazed oval dial with ormolu and foliate engraved masking to the dials, the upper dial of white enamel with Roman chapter ring with blued steel hands and recessed centre showing the jewelled Brocot escapement and detail signature for Fras. Glading Brighton, the calendar dial below displaying the month and equation of time indicated by a gilt and blued steel sunburst hand, the recessed centre painted with a starry sky with moon aperture and day and date subsidiaries, the porcelain panel between painted with winged cherubs within gilt foliage on a maroon background, both panels numbered 31259 droite/gauche to the reverse, the movement with twin going barrels and strike on a bell, the backplate with retail stamp and J.B.D. and further numbered 27206 20, trip lever to the calendrical movement below, the pendulum bob also numbered 27206 JB.D
