The case with gilt-brass baluster handle to the inverted bell top, breakarch glazed sides, the front door with repousée quarter mounts and later escutcheon, the moulded base on block feet, the dial signed Jno: Berry London on a silvered recessed sector in the matted centre with mock pendulum aperture, silvered chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, mask-and-foliate spandrels, the arch set with subsidiary rings for strike/silent, calendar and pendulum regulation, all with blued steel hands, the movement with five baluster pillars, twin fusees and spring barrels with gut lines, pivoted verge escapement, the pendulum suspended on a spring from the engraved regulation bar, pull quarter repeat on six bells with hour strike on a further bell, the backplate signed Jn. Berry London in an oval within elaborate foliate engraving centred above by a ho-ho bird, steel securing brackets
