An excellent George III mahogany month-going longcase regulator

The case with raised rectangular panel to the double footed plinth, mahogany breakarch trunk door, the hood with brass-reeded stop chamfered angles flanking the door with ogee mouldings and surmounted by a concave pediment with brass flambeau urn finial, the silvered engraved dial of regulator layout signed Dwerrihouse Berkley Square, all hands of blued steel, the arch engraved with a dial calibrated 0-90 recording the fluctuations in pendulum length, the movement with four front-screwed pillars securing the rectangular brass plates with concave shoulders, maintaining power, four wheel train with end-cap strip to the backplate pivots, deadbeat escapement with Vulliamy-type pallets, the steel-rod pendulum spring suspended from a large steel T-bar on two coiled steel suspension springs mounted behind the plates with two steel rods spring-suspended at either end running two thirds down the insides of the trunk, the fluctuation in the length of the pendulum recorded via a cross-arm over the movement plates to a brass wheel behind the dial with delicate steel wishbone spring system to register the variations on the subsidiary dial in the arch; together with the original brass-cased weight and ebony-handled crank key with brass shaft
