The case with shallow concave top with ormolu foliate mounts and surmounted by a butterfly on a gilt sphere, bronze and ormolu gadrooned urn and flambeau finials to the front, the sides set with ormolu doors cast as lyre and foliate sound fret panels, the front angles with ormolu caryatides, moulded base on foliate cast feet, the dial signed Barraud & Lunds 41, Cornhill London No. 2628 on a plaque beneath the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with blued steel hands, matted centre, well cast rosette and foliate spandrels, subsidiary rings in the arch for chime/silent and eight tune selection changing automatically every three hours and playing the following tunes; Sicilian Mariners Hymn
