A rare George III gilt and black painted large dial clock

The cream painted three-piece 23in. diameter cream painted dial signed John Shelton London with Roman and Arabic chapters and brass heart-shaped hands, the double salt box case secured to the dial by unusual swivel catches, doors to the right side and to the base with butterfly hinges, the movement with four pillars, verge escapement with steel rod pendulum and spherical brass bob, fusee and spring barrel with wire lines, the movement on an oak seatboard secured by bolts through to the base pillars of the movement
