A large late 19th-Century (?)aluminium 4½-inch astronomical telescope,
stamped on the eyepiece tube T. COOKE & SONS, YORK and Supplied by BROADHURST, CLARKSON & Co. 65 FARRINGDON RD LONDON E.C., with an engraved plaque on the back plate COELI ENARRANT GLORIAM DEI (PsXIX), the 146cm. long body-tube with lens cap, screw-on ray-shade, star-finder and rack and pinion adjustment to the eyepiece extension tube, with telescopic stabiliser bar and three other stabilisers, in a green-painted wooden box with two brass hooks and eyes and carrying handles -- 189.5cm. (74 5/8in.) wide with the appropriate aluminium and ebonised wood tripod
